मुंबई के अंधेरी में रहने वाले 69 वर्षीय रिटायर्ड व्यक्ति के साथ “डिजिटल अरेस्ट” स्कैम में 1.54 करोड़ रुपये की ठगी का मामला सामने आया है। पुलिस के मुताबिक, यह ठगी दिसंबर 2025 में शुरू हुई थी, जब आरोपियों ने खुद को पुलिस अधिकारी बताकर पीड़ित को निशाना बनाया।
फर्जी आरोप और गिरफ्तारी की धमकी
ठगों ने पीड़ित पर अश्लील वीडियो फैलाने का झूठा आरोप लगाया और तुरंत गिरफ्तारी की धमकी दी। डर पैदा करने के लिए उन्होंने फर्जी समन और अरेस्ट वारंट भी भेजे, जिससे मामला असली लगे।
नकली कोर्ट और ‘गोपनीयता समझौता’
मामले को और विश्वसनीय बनाने के लिए आरोपियों ने एक नकली कोर्ट सुनवाई भी दिखाई, जिसमें एक कथित जज शामिल था। इसके साथ ही पीड़ित से एक तथाकथित गोपनीयता समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर भी कराए गए, ताकि वह किसी को जानकारी न दे सके।
दबाव में ट्रांसफर किए 1.54 करोड़
लगातार मानसिक दबाव और डर के कारण पीड़ित ने अलग-अलग बैंक खातों में कुल 1.54 करोड़ रुपये ट्रांसफर कर दिए। इसके बाद आरोपियों ने संपर्क तोड़ दिया, तब जाकर पीड़ित को ठगी का एहसास हुआ और उसने पुलिस में शिकायत दर्ज कराई।
ऑटो ड्राइवर तक पहुंची जांच
जांच के दौरान पुलिस ने एक बैंक खाते का पता लगाया, जो मुंबई के एक ऑटो-रिक्शा चालक से जुड़ा था। पुलिस ने आरोपी अशोक पाल को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है, जो कथित तौर पर इस ठगी के वित्तीय लेन-देन में शामिल था।
गिरोह के बाकी सदस्य फरार
पुलिस अब इस पूरे नेटवर्क के अन्य सदस्यों की पहचान और गिरफ्तारी के लिए जांच आगे बढ़ा रही है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि “डिजिटल अरेस्ट” जैसे स्कैम तेजी से बढ़ रहे हैं और लोगों को सतर्क रहने की जरूरत है।
