दिग्गज टेक कंपनी मेटा (Meta Platforms) ने एक बार फिर अपने कार्यबल में कटौती करने का फैसला किया है। हालिया रिपोर्ट्स के अनुसार, फेसबुक और इंस्टाग्राम की पैरेंट कंपनी मेटा, विभिन्न विभागों से सैकड़ों कर्मचारियों को बाहर का रास्ता दिखा रही है।
पुनर्गठन या लागत कटौती?
मेटा के प्रवक्ता द्वारा जारी बयान के अनुसार, यह कदम कंपनी के नियमित पुनर्गठन (Restructuring) का हिस्सा है। कंपनी का कहना है कि वे अपनी टीमों को इस तरह व्यवस्थित कर रहे हैं ताकि वे अपने दीर्घकालिक लक्ष्यों को अधिक कुशलता से प्राप्त कर सकें। प्रवक्ता ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि कंपनी प्रभावित कर्मचारियों को अन्य आंतरिक भूमिकाओं में स्थानांतरित करने का प्रयास कर रही है, लेकिन कई लोगों के लिए यह संभव नहीं हो पाएगा।
20% वर्कफोर्स पर संकट के संकेत
रॉयटर्स (Reuters) की एक अन्य रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, यह छोटी कटौती केवल एक बड़े तूफान की शुरुआत हो सकती है। ऐसी चर्चा है कि मेटा आने वाले समय में अपने कुल कार्यबल के 20% या उससे अधिक हिस्से की छंटनी करने की योजना बना रही है। दिसंबर 2025 तक मेटा के पास लगभग 79,000 कर्मचारी थे, और इस बड़े पैमाने की छंटनी का असर हजारों परिवारों पर पड़ सकता है।
टेक जगत में अनिश्चितता का माहौल
मेटा द्वारा बुधवार को शुरू की गई यह छंटनी दर्शाती है कि विज्ञापन राजस्व में उतार-चढ़ाव और मेटावर्स व AI पर बढ़ते खर्च के कारण टेक कंपनियां अभी भी दबाव में हैं। 2023 और 2024 के “Year of Efficiency” के बाद, 2026 में भी टेक सेक्टर में स्थिरता की कमी साफ नजर आ रही है।
