Digital Arrest के नाम पर ₹4.9 करोड़ की ठगी, 94 वर्षीय बुजुर्ग बने शिकार
Bengaluru: साइबर ठगों ने एक 94 वर्षीय शोधकर्ता को निशाना बनाते हुए “डिजिटल अरेस्ट” का डर दिखाकर ₹4.9 करोड़ की ठगी कर ली। पुलिस के मुताबिक, आरोपियों ने खुद को कानून प्रवर्तन एजेंसियों का अधिकारी बताकर इस पूरे फ्रॉड को अंजाम दिया।
BESCOM कर्मचारी बनकर किया पहला संपर्क
पुलिस के अनुसार, 12 फरवरी को पीड़ित को एक लैंडलाइन कॉल आया, जिसमें कॉलर ने खुद को BESCOM का कर्मचारी बताया। उसने झूठा दावा किया कि बल्लारी में उनके खिलाफ मानव तस्करी का मामला दर्ज है और जल्द ही एक अधिकारी उनसे संपर्क करेगा।
CBI अधिकारी बनकर मांगी आधार डिटेल
इसके बाद एक अन्य व्यक्ति ने खुद को Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) का अधिकारी “संदीप राव” बताया। उसने पीड़ित से व्हाट्सऐप पर आधार डिटेल मांगी और एक फर्जी FIR भेजकर मामले को असली दिखाने की कोशिश की।
वीडियो कॉल पर ‘डिजिटल अरेस्ट’ का डर
ठगों ने वीडियो कॉल के जरिए पीड़ित को “डिजिटल अरेस्ट” में होने का डर दिखाया। एक व्यक्ति पुलिस जैसी वर्दी में नजर आया और बुजुर्ग को किसी से संपर्क न करने की हिदायत दी। उन्हें व्हाट्सऐप पर लगातार अपडेट देने के लिए भी कहा गया, ताकि उन पर नियंत्रण बनाए रखा जा सके।
डर और दबाव में ट्रांसफर किए करोड़ों रुपये
कानूनी कार्रवाई के डर से पीड़ित ने कई ट्रांजैक्शन में कुल ₹4.9 करोड़ आरोपियों के बताए खातों में ट्रांसफर कर दिए। पुलिस के अनुसार, ठगों ने मानसिक दबाव और डर का इस्तेमाल कर पीड़ित को पूरी तरह अलग-थलग कर दिया था।
पुलिस की अपील: सतर्क रहें
पुलिस ने लोगों, खासकर वरिष्ठ नागरिकों से सतर्क रहने की अपील की है। अधिकारियों ने स्पष्ट किया है कि कोई भी वैध एजेंसी, चाहे वह पुलिस हो या CBI, वीडियो कॉल पर गिरफ्तारी नहीं करती और न ही मामलों को निपटाने के लिए पैसे मांगती है।
फिलहाल पुलिस इस मामले में शामिल आरोपियों की पहचान करने और ठगी गई रकम को वापस लाने के प्रयास में जुटी है।
