थार रेगिस्तान के बीचों-बीच, जहां दूर-दूर तक रेत के पहाड़ दिखाई देते हैं वहां न्यूयॉर्क की डायना केलॉग ने अपनी अतभुत कला से Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls School की इमारत को डिज़ाइन किया हैं। इस स्कूल भवन के डिज़ाइन की खास बात यह है कि स्कूल के बाहर कितनी भी प्रचंड गर्मी क्यों न हो लेकिन अंदर से स्कूल भवन बगैर ऐसी के भी ठंडा बना रहता हैं, जिससे छात्राओं को जरा सा भी गर्मी का एहसास नहीं होता।
स्कूल भवन को एक अंडाकार संरचना के आकार में बनाया गया है। भवन के अंदर कोई एयर कंडीशनर नहीं है, मगर यह रेगिस्तानी परिदृश्य में और विपरीत मौसम के दौरान भी राहत प्रदान करता है। इस स्कूल की दीवारों को जालीदार और छतों को हवादार बनाया गया है। बता दें कि स्कूल भवन की इमारत पीले बालू पत्थर से बनाई गयी है। राजस्थान की ऐसी जगह जहां प्रतिवर्ष वातावरण के तापमान में बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की जा रही है, और जहाँ पूरे दिन गर्म हवा के साथ रेत उड़ती रहती है, वहां एक स्कूल का इस तरह का बेहतर पर्यावरण विद्यार्थियों के लिए किसी सौगात से कम नहीं है।
