ओडिशा के कटक में स्थित SCB Medical College and Hospital में सोमवार तड़के एक बड़ा हादसा हो गया। अस्पताल के ट्रॉमा केयर ICU में लगी आग में कम से कम 10 मरीजों की मौत हो गई, जबकि 11 अस्पताल कर्मचारी झुलसकर घायल हो गए।
अधिकारियों के मुताबिक यह आग सुबह करीब 2:30 से 3 बजे के बीच ICU में लगी, जहां कई गंभीर मरीजों का इलाज चल रहा था।
ICU में मची अफरा-तफरी
आग लगने की सूचना मिलते ही दमकल की कई गाड़ियां मौके पर पहुंचीं और राहत-बचाव अभियान शुरू किया गया। अस्पताल स्टाफ ने भी मरीजों को ICU से बाहर निकालने की कोशिश की, लेकिन इस दौरान कई कर्मचारी आग की चपेट में आकर झुलस गए।
मरीजों को दूसरे वार्ड में किया गया शिफ्ट
ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री Mohan Charan Majhi ने बताया कि कुल 23 मरीजों को तुरंत अस्पताल के अन्य वार्ड और ICU में शिफ्ट किया गया।
उन्होंने कहा,

7 गंभीर मरीजों की मौत दूसरे ICU और वार्ड में ले जाते समय हुई,

जबकि 3 अन्य मरीजों ने बाद में दम तोड़ दिया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने यह भी निर्देश दिए हैं कि हादसे में घायल सभी लोगों को उचित और बेहतर इलाज दिया जाए।
अस्पताल का दौरा
घटना के बाद मुख्यमंत्री मोहन चरण माझी ने ओडिशा के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री Mukesh Mahaling के साथ अस्पताल पहुंचकर हालात का जायजा लिया और अन्य विभागों में शिफ्ट किए गए मरीजों की स्थिति की जानकारी ली।
मृतकों के परिवार को मुआवजा
मुख्यमंत्री ने हादसे में जान गंवाने वाले मरीजों के परिवारों के लिए 25 लाख रुपये की अनुग्रह राशि (Ex-gratia) देने की घोषणा की है।
न्यायिक जांच के आदेश
इस दर्दनाक घटना के कारणों का पता लगाने के लिए मुख्यमंत्री ने न्यायिक जांच के आदेश दिए हैं। जांच में यह देखा जाएगा कि आग लगने के पीछे क्या वजह थी और क्या किसी तरह की लापरवाही हुई थी।
