एक वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हुआ, जिसमें दावा किया गया कि नेपाल में एक स्मारक के पास तीन लोगों को रस्सियों से लटकाया गया है। यूजर्स ने इसे इस तरह शेयर किया कि जैसे स्थानीय लोगों ने एक नेपाली हिंदू लड़की के साथ रेप के दोषी पाए गए लोगों को सार्वजनिक रूप से फांसी दी हो।

NewsMobile ने इस दावे की जांच की और पाया कि यह भ्रामक (misleading) है।

दावे की पुष्टि के लिए टीम ने संबंधित कीवर्ड्स के जरिए सर्च किया, लेकिन नेपाल में ऐसी किसी घटना को लेकर कोई भी विश्वसनीय समाचार रिपोर्ट या आधिकारिक बयान सामने नहीं आया।

वायरल वीडियो के गहन विश्लेषण में कई असंगतियां सामने आईं। वीडियो में क्रेन और फिल्म शूटिंग से जुड़ा उपकरण दिखाई देता है। इसके अलावा, वीडियो में दिख रहे लोग वास्तव में गले से लटके हुए नहीं लगते, बल्कि उनके शरीर को सहारा दिया गया प्रतीत होता है, जिससे यह स्पष्ट होता है कि यह एक स्टेज्ड (staged) दृश्य है।

आगे की जांच में वीडियो का मूल स्रोत मिला। यह क्लिप दरअसल हरियाणवी गाने “Defender”, जिसे Mankirt Aulakh ने गाया है, की बिहाइंड-द-सीन (behind-the-scenes) फुटेज है। यह वीडियो 5 अप्रैल 2024 को अपलोड किया गया था। वीडियो में दिखाई देने वाला तीन लोगों के लटकने वाला सीन गाने की शूटिंग का हिस्सा है।

मूल म्यूजिक वीडियो और वायरल क्लिप के फ्रेम की तुलना करने पर दोनों में समानता स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई देती है।
