Assam Flood: 1.7 लाख से अधिक लोग प्रभावित, सेना ने शुरू किया ‘ऑपरेशन जल राहत’
असम में भारी बारिश और विनाशकारी बाढ़ के कारण स्थिति बेहद चिंताजनक हो गई है। राज्य के 12 जिलों में बाढ़ ने भारी तबाही मचाई है, जिससे 1.7 लाख से अधिक लोग प्रभावित हुए हैं। लगातार हो रही मूसलाधार बारिश के चलते नदियों का जलस्तर खतरे के निशान को पार कर गया है, जिसने 30 राजस्व सर्किलों और 580 गांवों को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया है। इस गंभीर प्राकृतिक आपदा को देखते हुए भारतीय सेना ने प्रभावित लोगों की मदद के लिए ‘ऑपरेशन जल राहत’ (Operation Jal Rahat) की शुरुआत की है।
भारी बारिश और शहरी बाढ़ से हाहाकार
गुवाहाटी और उसके आसपास के इलाकों में रात भर हुई मूसलाधार बारिश के कारण अचानक बाढ़ (Flash Floods) आ गई है। मेघालय की पहाड़ियों से आने वाले पानी और वसिष्ठ नदी (Basistha River) के बढ़ते जलस्तर के कारण गुवाहाटी के कई निचले इलाके पूरी तरह जलमग्न हो गए हैं। लोगों के घरों में पानी घुसने से रसोई का सामान, सोफा और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स जैसे जरूरी सामान बर्बाद हो चुके हैं। पूर्वी और ऊपरी असम में स्थिति और भी खराब है, जहां शिवसागर, चराईदेव और जोरहाट सबसे अधिक प्रभावित जिले हैं।
सेना और NDRF का रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन
बाढ़ की भयावहता को देखते हुए भारतीय सेना और असम राइफल्स ने मोर्चे को संभाल लिया है। एनडीआरएफ (NDRF) की टीमें भी राहत कार्यों में जुटी हैं और प्रभावित जिलों में नावें तैनात कर फंसे हुए लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुंचा रही हैं। इसके साथ ही, बाढ़ के कारण 10,362 हेक्टेयर से अधिक खड़ी फसल पानी में डूब चुकी है और रेलवे पटरियों को नुकसान पहुंचने से रेल कनेक्टिविटी भी प्रभावित हुई है।
मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा ने कहा है कि लोगों की सुरक्षा सरकार की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता है। प्रशासन 24 घंटे स्थिति पर पैनी नजर रख रहा है और कैबिनेट मंत्रियों को तुरंत बाढ़ प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में राहत कार्यों की निगरानी के लिए भेजा गया है।
