बाढ़ कि मार झेल रहे देश के कई प्रदेशों के बीच आज केरल से दुखद खबर सामने आ रही है। दरअसल केरल के मुन्नार में बड़ा भूस्खलन हुआ है, जिसमें चाय बागानों में काम करने वाले कई मजदूर फंस गए हैं। अभी तक 15 लोगों की मौत की पुष्टि हो गयी है। बता दे इलाके में पिछले तीन दिनों से मूसलाधार बारिश हो रही है और पूरा जीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया है, कई माकन पूरी तरीके से ध्वस्त हो गये है, रोड मलबे के कारण जाम हो गयी है। स्थानीय अधिकारियों के मुताबिक, ये दुर्घटना इडुक्की जिले में शुक्रवार (7 अगस्त) तड़के हुई। यह इलाका पूरी तरह कट गया है। इसलिए राहत और बचाव कार्य में दिक्कत आ रही है।

ये भूस्खलन जिले के राजमलाई क्षेत्र में हुआ। जिस जगह पर भूस्खलन हुआ है वो पर्यटन के लिए मशहूर मुन्नार से करीब 25 किलोमीटर दूर है। अधिकारियों के अनुसार इस क्षेत्र में 70 से 80 लोग हैं जो भूस्खलन के कारण फंसे हो सकते हैं। हालांकि, अभी सटीक जानकारी नहीं मिल पाई है कि आखिर कितने लोग फंसे हुए हैं।

बता दे अत्यधिक बारिश से बाढ़ जैसे हालात हैं और कई सड़कें बह चुकी हैं। केरल के राजस्व मंत्री ई चंद्रशेखरन ने कहा, ”स्थिति वास्तव में गंभीर है।”

फिलहाल एनडीआरएफ की टीमें बचाव कार्य में जुटी। वन अधिकारी और अन्य आपातकालीन सेवा कर्मचारी मौके पर पहुंच चुके है। बचाव कार्य के लिए हेलीकॉप्टर सेवा इस्तेमाल करने के लिए संपर्क साधा गया है। स्वास्थ्य मंत्री केके शैलजा के मुताबिक, एक मोबाइल मेडिकल टीम और 15 एंबुलेंस को इडुक्की भेजा गया।
